Ward 4 is bounded to the north by Queen Street, to the east by Mclaughlin Road and Hurontario Street, to the east by Mississauga and Mavis Roads, and to the south by Steeles Avenue and Highway 407. Ward 4 has the highest poverty rate in the city, at 12.4 percent compared to Brampton’s overall 8.7 percent. 88.9 percent of the ward is racialized. Brampton wards are governed in pairs, by both a city councillor and a regional councillor. Wards 3 and 4 are governed by city councillor Dennis Keenan, who is wrapping up his first term, and by longtime regional councillor Martin Medeiros, who was first elected in 2014.
