Ward 9 is bounded to the north by Mayfield Road, to the east by Torbram Road, to the west by Highway 410, and to the south by Bovaird Drive East. The median household income in Ward 9 is $101,000. The racialized population in the ward is 91.3 percent. Brampton wards are governed in pairs, by both a city councillor and a regional councillor. Harkirat Singh is the city councillor representing Wards 9 and 10, and was first elected in 2018. Gupartap Singh Toor is the incumbent regional councillor and first took office in October 2022 as the youngest councillor in the city’s history. Up against Toor is Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, who has previously been councillor in the wards between 2014 and 2022.
