Carl Meyer
Carl Meyer is The Narwhal’s climate investigations reporter, based in Ottawa. He won a gold award from the Canadian Association of Journalists for a 2023 story examining the climate pledges of the Pathways Alliance of oilsands companies. From 2017 to 2021 he wrote about the science and politics of climate change for Canada’s National Observer. Prior to this, he worked as a foreign policy journalist at the Hill Times where he covered defence, diplomacy and international trade. Carl’s position is supported in part by the Trottier Family Foundation. As per The Narwhal’s editorial independence policy, the foundation has no editorial input.
