Federal Election Candidates for Every Riding in the GTA
A map of all candidates running in the April 28 federal election in the Greater Toronto Area, including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa.
While it might seem straightforward that there should be a map that, at a glance, lets voters know the candidates for each electoral riding, such a tool did not exist. The Local’s newsroom learned this the hard way, after wasting time looking up candidates riding by riding on Election Canada’s frustratingly cumbersome website. So we decided to build a simple map of all the federal election candidates in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the region we’re spotlighting in our election coverage.
Of the 343 seats up for grabs in the April 28 federal election, 59 are in the GTA. This includes Toronto (24 seats), and the regions of Peel (13 seats), York (9 seats), Durham (7 seats), and Halton (6 seats).
Use the interactive map to look up your local candidates or, if you’re just curious, browse to see all the candidates running across the GTA.
