This guide answers common questions about voting in Mississauga, from who is eligible to what you’ll need to bring to polling locations.

Who do I get to vote for?

Eligible voters will cast their ballot for a mayor, a city councillor to represent their ward, and relevant school board trustee at the same time.

Voters can check which of Mississauga’s 11 wards they live in by using the city’s address lookup tool.

In Mississauga, city councillors also sit on the Region of Peel Council.

Am I eligible to vote?

You must be at least 18 years old, a Canadian citizen, and qualify to vote. Resident electors—the most common type of eligibility—own, rent or live in the municipality. You can also vote if your spouse rents or owns property in the municipality.

Mississaugans can check, update or add their registration to vote using the Voter Registration Portal. Voters can also add their name to the list at a polling station with proper identification during advance voting or on election day.

Where can I vote?

On October 26, polling stations are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Mississauga voters can cast their ballot at any location in their ward.

All advance polling locations are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on October 6 and 7 at Mississauga Civic Centre, regardless of your ward. Locations for October 8 to 11 are on the City’s website.
